About Test My Kit

Test My Kit is a set of free tests for the computer kit you use every day. Each one answers a simple question, such as "is this key dead?" or "is my mouse double clicking?", in a sentence, and suggests what to try before you replace anything.

The tests run entirely in your browser using the same features websites use to read your keyboard, mouse, camera and microphone. Nothing you press, show or say is uploaded or stored, and there's nothing to install.

Who runs it

Test My Kit is run from the United Kingdom by the team behind Sudo Picks, a site that compares computer kit, from keyboards and monitors to home lab gear. When a test finds a fault, it links to the matching Sudo Picks buying guide in case you need a replacement. That's what keeps the tests free.
