Test My Kit is run from the United Kingdom. This page explains what information the site handles and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).

The tests

Every test runs entirely in your browser. The keys you press, your clicks and your mouse movements are never sent to us or anyone else. Closing the page clears them.

The webcam and mic tests only use your camera or microphone after you press Start and your browser asks your permission. The picture and sound are shown and analysed by your own browser and never uploaded. The mic test's five-second playback is held in memory and goes when you close the page. A photo from the webcam test is only saved if you press Save a photo, and then only to your own device.

The click speed test saves your best score for each test length in your browser's local storage, and the site remembers your light or dark theme the same way. Both stay on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Visitor statistics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to each page. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and doesn't build a profile of you. It records the page, the referring site, and your browser, device type and country.

Fonts

The site's font loads from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. Google's own privacy policy covers that request.

Links to Sudo Picks

Some pages link to our sister site, Sudo Picks. Those links carry a tag saying which test you came from, so we can see which tests are useful. Sudo Picks has its own privacy policy.

Your rights

We don't hold personal information about visitors. If you have a question, email hello@testmykit.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
